Established in 1993, New Zealand Seafood’s is a family owned and operated business by husband and wife team, Anton and Leigh Jelicich.
Primarily our business is processing oysters for both export and local markets. As a NZFSA approved processing plant our hygiene and safety standards are strictly monitored. We are also a licensed fish receiver so we contract pack fish for local and overseas markets too.
During the harvesting season (winter months) the oysters arrive daily (weather permitting) from oyster farms in the Mahurangi Harbour, the Bay of Islands and Coromandel. Our driver collects and delivers the freshly harvested oysters back to our processing plant in New Lynn, where our talented team clean, shuck and pack the oysters ready for sale.
Over the last 20 years Anton and Leigh Jelicich have cemented a reputation as one of the region’s best oyster suppliers. Their retail and processing plant located on 20B Portage Road, New Lynn supplies the public, restaurants, distributors, wholesalers and the export market.
As an international exporter, New Zealand Seafoods can offer the service of export wrapping for overseas travel to Australia, the Pacific Islands and Asia. Oysters can be checked in as luggage and really are a great hit at family reunions, weddings and other special occasions.
New Zealand Seafoods, 20 Portage Road, New Lynn is open to the public Monday – Friday from 7.30am to 3pm and some Saturdays during winter months.
